Deviascopes
Cape Compass can provide custom made DEVIASCOPES for classroom and demonstration use. These are custom fabricated and require some lead time to prepare. Two types are offered.
Type 1
This is the classic teaching device, capable of demonstrating the causes & remedial techniques for all common ship-board magnetic compass errors. (Coefficients A, B, C, D, E & J.)
Type 2
Simplified contemporary model, suitable for student laboratory practice, capable of demonstrating the causes & remedial techniques for the common magnetic compass errors typical of non-steel boats. (Capable of demonstrating coefficients A, B, C and J.)
